    Description

    Overall, the radio is in very nice condition, physically and electrically. It was made from 1969-1971 for Allied Radio by Trio-Kenwood.  It was sold outside the US as a Trio JR-500S. It covers the 80 through 10 meter amateur bands. It appears to have been recapped at some point.  It receives very well on a short wire antenna, however it needs about 30 minutes to stabilize. There is also a VFO output jack that can be used with a crystal controlled-only transmitter. Either headphones or an external speaker will be needed.  A copy of the manual is included.
