ANTIQUE/VINTAGE/OLD HALLICRAFTERS SUPER SKYRIDER MODEL SX-28 SHORTWAVE RADIO

Description

Offered is an old/vintage “THE HALLICRAFTERS, INC SUPER SKYRIDER MODEL SX-28” short wave radio set. The set has been stored in a finished, climate controlled basement for close to 40 years. It appears to be all original and complete, but not being familiar with these radio’s I can’t be 100% sure. The radio is in nice cosmetic condition. It’s a bit dusty from sitting but I didn’t try to clean anything so as not to break any sensitive or fragile parts. The set measures 20-1/2” left to right, 14-1/2” (16-1/2” with the dials) front to back, and 11” tall. It’s very heavy, weighing about 75 pounds. I have the set listed as pick up only, but I may be able to ship it. Since it’s so heavy, I could ship it on a skid motor freight as long as the winning bidder could unload it. If you provide me with your city, state and zip code, and also if it would be a hand unload or a loading dock, I can get you a shipping price. I can also meet the winning bidder within a 50 mile radius of zip code 18914 which is north of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, I have no way of testing this radio so I don’t know if it works. I’m listing it in the hope that someone can restore/fix it or use it for parts for another set. It does look complete, but as can be seen in the pictures, the cord is cracked and spliced in to the original wiring. I don’t dare try plugging it in.
