Description

this unit is in perfect working order. I was going to clean the switches and pots but the only scratchy sounds I got was the tone control between 0 and 1 there's a slight scratchy sound turning the knob thru that range,so I didn't bother opening the unit to clean things. The faceplate of the radio is cracked and I've got a good photo of that. I didn't even notice that crack until about a month after I got it when I placed it on top of a smaller refrigerator I have. I was using it on my kitchen table so I didn't have a good head on view. I believe that got cracked in shipping because there were also some old ceramic insulators between the wall of the box and the front of the radio so after I noticed the crack I figured the box got bumped and those insulators cracked the faceplate. I think the photo makes it look alot worse than how it looks to the naked eye.It does not affect the operation of the radio in any way.I'm selling this used as is with no returns but right now it seems to be in perfect working order. I feel it's best for users that have specific frequencies to tune to. I prefer an old analog tuner like a dx-160 because I like to just tune thru the bands. With this radio that takes quite a while to do. I also think an antenna tuned for the frequency you are listening to may help alot. I just use a wire around the broomstick type antenna but I wanted to do a test with a better antenna but I'm now to a point where I'm thinking of selling all my receivers. I'm in southern Michigan and I just never pick up much stuff on any of my radios. Included is the radio,power cord,original box and manual. This unit will probably be expensive to ship and the buyer pays the shipping charges. I'm guessing maybe west of the rockies. Besides being somewhat heavy I am double boxing it and I'm going to say it will probably be the best packed item you have ever bought. I can ship it UPS or postal service,I could fed ex it but I would charge an extra for that because the fed ex place is about a 30 minute drive for me. As I stated before ,I'm selling this used ,as is with no returns,but as of now I feel it is in perfect working order. I was going to start it at 0 but because of that crack I'm lowering the starting bid to 5. Shipping to 48 states only.
