Unbuilt WBR Wheatstone Bridge 40 Meter Receiver Kit – by N1BYT

I am helping out with the estate of a good friend of mine who was a ham radio operator and collected vintage gear for many years.  I will be listing his equipment during the coming weeks and months.
Cooler weather and longer nights are coming which makes for a great time to build an electronics kit.  Here is an unbuilt version of the original WBR 40 meter receiver.  This simple and neat project comes from an excellent article of Dan Wissell, N1BYT, published in QST, August 2001, p.34-37.
In a nut shell, the design of this receiver takes the advantages of a regenerative receiver (simplicity, sensitivity) and tries to address the issues which are antenna radiation, microphonics and hand capacity effects. The design uses a sort of Wheatstone Bridge design for coupling the antenna to the tank circuit.  For more information, you can Google “WBR receiver.”  There is also at least one YouTube video on the WBR receiver.
I’ve taken a number of photos so you can see exactly what you are getting.  This kit includes the circuit board and all electronic components, plus a copy of the original QST article.  You will need to supply the knobs and a cabinet or project box, plus hardware.  An earphone is not included.
